Reid and Avery meet at a party and end up having a one-night stand, which is what really sets this whole story into motion. What makes their relationship so engaging is the contrast between them. Reid is completely head over heels from the start, and he doesn’t hide that from Avery at all.

Avery, on the other hand, is cautious because of her past, which honestly felt very realistic and understandable. I loved that she stayed true to her beliefs and her fears instead of giving in too quickly just because Reid wanted more.

And Reid… he was adorable. His persistence never felt pushy or overwhelming. It felt genuine. Sweet. The kind of MMC who just knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to show it.

Avery’s emotional depth really gave this book weight. This wasn’t just a story about a guy wanting a girl and her being scared. You really feel what Avery feels as she processes everything happening around her compared to what she’s been through. Watching her work through those emotions made the story feel very real.

The final third of this book was honestly hard to read emotionally. It was heartbreaking at times, and I felt for both Avery and Reid. At the same time, I completely understood why Avery stood so firmly in her decision. And there were definitely moments where I wanted to yell at one of the side characters to wise up because their behavior felt incredibly selfish. But the emotional payoff at the end made the journey worth it. I received this book as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

If I could go back in time, if I could turn back the time, I'd find your brother sooner so that I could find you.
