Rook and Briana’s story completely caught me off guard. I expected a darker stalker romance, but this is DARK dark in a way that feels psychologically intense and deeply consuming.

What starts as the freshman prank quickly turns into an obsession Rook cannot walk away from. He is possessive, controlling, manipulative, and honestly unsettling at times, but the deeper you get into the story, the more you realize how much his past shaped who he became. The same goes for Briana. Her past explains why she responds to him the way she does, even when some of the things between them are hard to read.

The push and pull between fear, desire, obsession, and emotional dependence made this impossible for me to put down. There were moments I was completely shocked, moments I was uncomfortable, and moments where I somehow understood them anyway.

The dark academia atmosphere, the constant tension, and the intensity between them made this incredibly addictive. And while this absolutely will not work for everyone, if you like your dark romance truly dark, emotionally messy, and obsessive, this delivers. I received this book as an ARC an am leaving this review voluntarily.

She’s driving me crazy. I have no idea why.
