Simona is determined to bring down her stepfather after everything he’s done to her. The history there is dark, and you can feel how much it has shaped who she is and why she refuses to back down.
When her “uncle” returns, everything shifts. There’s an immediate tension between them, layered with history, attraction, and hesitation. She’s always wanted him, scars and all, and that pull between them never really goes away.
Neither of them wanted to fully let the other because trust didn't come easy but once they started working together, they became something powerful and fierce. Their dynamic wasn’t just emotional, it was strategic, and they balanced each other in a way that made sense.
And honestly, the fact that he lets her take control? That he trusts her enough to follow her lead? That was such a strong and attractive part of his character. It added a different kind of intensity to their relationship.
For a shorter book, this one packs a punch - a very very spicy punch. The chemistry is strong, the tension is constant, and the spice definitely delivers. I received this as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
I would bow down to her, I would protect her, I would ruin her.
