We need to talk about Liam, because this man is a bundle of green flags. The love he has for Finn is so strong and absolute, it’s the perfect example of unwavering fatherly love. His son is the center of his world, and you feel that in every interaction. I genuinely don’t understand how Finn’s mom could walk away from both of them the way she did.

Then there’s the way Liam cares for Anna. He is thoughtful with her emotions and intentional in how he shows up for her. It’s not just what he says, it’s what he does. Because of how he treats her, you can see Anna naturally begin to care for Finn just as deeply as she does for Liam, and that connection felt so genuine and earned.

Anna’s friends were another highlight. The support they give her and the little pieces of wisdom they share throughout the story added so much warmth. At the same time, the other side characters clearly serve a purpose. You can sense where the tension will come from, and there’s this quiet anticipation building as you wait for it to unfold.

I couldn’t put this book down. It was so full of heart and compassion, with a love that doesn’t happen all at once, but grows steadily day by day into something strong, lasting, and deeply rooted. I received this as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

You're like a drug and I'm desperate. You're my weakness.
