I can imagine the reading experience is very different from the audiobook, and not just because of the added music and sound effects. The narrator for the MMC takes a character who is already deeply dark and somehow makes him even more unsettling. It added an extra layer of intensity that really stuck with me.

Grayson is far more intense than any other serial killer MMC I’ve read. The level of detail used to describe what he does is vivid and unapologetic, which makes him both fascinating and disturbing at the same time.As for Alora, you can feel just how low she is at the beginning of the story. She’s ready to give up entirely, but Grayson already had his sights on her, and he refuses to let her go.

Their dynamic is such a strange mix of comedy, erotica, and completely unhinged romance, and somehow, it is the hottest thing ever. It was surprisingly heartwarming to watch him pull her back from the edge, even when right after his actions were weird. She doesn't hesitate to throw witty comments his way making it an interesting dynamic that adapts from start to finish

While the story itself is dark and heavy, the spice carries that same tone. It’s a mix of hot and unsettling in a way that fits who Grayson is at his core. The moments between Grayson and Alora definitely made me blush, and honestly, the audiobook probably intensified that, but it never feels separate from the story. This is not soft or vanilla romance. The intimacy reflects his darkness and obsession, which makes it both intense and memorable.

The audiobook experience itself was incredible. The music, the sound effects, the narrators, everything combined gave me constant goosebumps. I genuinely struggled to stop listening because the two of them completely captivated me. I received this as an ALC and I'm leaving this honest review voluntarily.

I'm the dark addiction that feeds your soul. And I am yours.
