I was completely blown away by the characters and the plot in this book. There was such a great balance between perspectives, no one overshadowed the others, and the story shifted viewpoints at exactly the right moments to keep everything engaging and cohesive.
Victoria is an incredible FMC. What she accomplishes is honestly impressive. Her strength isn’t loud or reckless, but it’s powerful. As she learns the MMCs, she isn't afraid to give them what they need, to help them and be there for them. Maksim, as the pakhan, absolutely exudes power and control. What I loved most was watching that control slowly slip, not suddenly or unrealistically, but gradually, piece by piece. It felt natural and you saw it build throughout.
Zakhar is the serious, stoic protector who softens for her, and I loved that contrast. His reason for standing in the “fig leaf formation” in her dad’s office genuinely made me laugh, and what happens in the security room was intense in the best way. Alexei surprised me the most. He has such a wild side, yet the way he becomes vulnerable for Victoria was amazing to watch. One look or touch from her completely shifts something in him, and those moments really stood out.
One scene that spoke volumes to me was when all three men were angry with Victoria, but the second she hurt herself, everything stopped. Their anger disappeared instantly because her safety mattered more than anything else. That moment perfectly captured the depth of their devotion. Even at nearly 500 pages, this book flew by. Between the gripping plot and the strong character development, it was impossible to put down. I received this book as an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I stand there, breath unsteady, tasting her on my mouth and feeling the fire she started burning through my veins.
