I love a good series, but getting the entire story in one book is the best: no waiting, no downloading the next installment, and no breaking the momentum. The Now/Then structure worked so well, moving the story forward while stepping back just enough to give important context to the relationships and emotions.

Hunter’s story is something else. The things she goes through are horrific, and yet she never completely stops moving forward, even if it’s only one small step at a time. I hated that she felt the need to run instead of fully exploring her feelings, but that avoidance also felt very real. Along the way, she learns more about herself, her limits, and how she can begin to cope with her past.

The four men in Hunter’s life are intensely in love with her, each in their own way. Greedy, her first love, carries such deep infatuation that never fades. The emotions he shows feel raw and honest, especially considering everything he’s dealing with internally. Kabir is pure comfort. The way he takes care of Hunter is the stuff dreams are made of: gentle when she needs softness, strong when she needs more.

Hunter’s journey with her men is powerful. While the book does an incredible job showcasing mental illness, it’s so much more than just a healing story. It’s about five people coming together, learning how to navigate each other, and facing the outside chaos that threatens them.

Watching this group truly form into a unit was amazing. And the addition of Joey and her men? Such a fantastic bonus that added even more depth to the story.  I received this as an ARC and all this reflects my honest opinion.

So Wrong: It was only ever her.

So Real: I'm not giving you up for anything Daisy.

So Rare: We're endgame, love.

So Right : For you Mahina, I can do anything.
