This book hit all the marks for me: strong characters, an exciting and suspenseful plot, and pacing that never dragged. Every chapter pulled me forward, completely invested in what would happen next.

Ember was such a standout. She walks into the group holding her own and refuses to back down, which I loved. Even when she tries to operate in ways that aren’t natural to her, she can’t quite force it, and that says so much about who she is at her core. Watching her gain confidence without fundamentally changing who she is felt authentic and earned.

The guys were pure perfection. I kept trying to decide who my favorite was, and every time I thought I had it figured out, one of the others would say or do something that completely shifted my opinion. Each of them brings something different to the dynamic, and that balance made the relationships feel layered rather than predictable.

There’s a moment in the book where everything shifts, and you can feel it in the writing. The way B handled that scene, and the perspective it came from, was absolutely perfect. If it had been told through anyone else’s lens, it wouldn’t have carried the same weight. The choice made the emotional impact land exactly the way it needed to.

Because each of the guys is so different, their individual connections with Ember felt intimate and distinct. The way they spoke to her, the way she responded to them, different tones, different banter, different emotional rhythms, made every relationship feel intentional. There’s a slow burn simmering between everyone, but the way each dynamic unfolds is fascinating in its own way. I truly couldn’t get enough of this book. I received this book as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Because if she's the fire that consumes us all - I'll burn willingly.
