There was so much about this book that kept pulling me farther and farther in. The shock started early — with the dedication, to be specific. After reading that, I knew I was in for something good.
Izzy begins as a girl who has lost faith and confidence in herself. She’s stuck in a massively toxic relationship (screw Evan) and spends so much time overanalyzing how she feels and what she should change. My heart broke for her when she felt she needed to change her body to be “good enough” for her boyfriend. Absolutely unacceptable.
Then came Cal. From the start, he sees Izzy exactly as she is and thinks she’s perfect. He doesn’t just fall for her — he dives headfirst off a cliff. His need to protect her physically and help her heal mentally is the perfect mix of strength and tenderness.
Cal’s use of the AI app that Izzy signs up for was such a clever way for them to connect, even if it was a major red flag Watching their conversations shift from casual to very steamy was addicting. Cal’s obsession with Izzy is equal parts hot and heart-melting. He’s the kind of hero you can’t help but root for — the man who builds her up rather than breaks her down.
Beyond the romance, the story has great pacing with twists, family moments, and bits of humor that keep it grounded. But if I’m being honest, Cal completely stole the show for me. He’s my favorite part of this book, hands down.
Because she's mine. My pretty girl. My entire world.
