Now He's Mine - Cadence Smoke

This story was a quick read, but this story stayed with me long after I finished. Mavix and Austin’s story is a powerful second-chance romance, made even more heartbreaking by the fact that losing their first chance wasn’t due to their own choices.

Through a bit of serendipity, Mavix and Austin find their way back to each other. I loved that they didn’t immediately fall back into what they once were. Cadence made a wonderful choice in giving them space to breathe, to relearn each other, and to sit in their feelings while slowly rebuilding something new.

Kash and Leah were an unexpected addition to the story, but in the best way. While I loved Mavix and Austin together, everything involving Kash genuinely made me smile. There was something about his willingness to set everything aside that really stayed with me.

Going into the story knowing there wouldn’t be a traditional HEA, I found myself trying to anticipate what would trigger that outcome. When it finally happened, so much clicked into place. The reasoning behind certain choices made sense, especially knowing that without her friends at that point, Vix would have been completely lost. I received this as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
