The banter in this book is fantastic and immediately sets the tone. It’s sharp, playful, and made the characters easy to fall in love with.
Regan wants more out of life, but she’s constantly battling the belief that no one will ever give it to her. Watching her slowly find her voice and stand up for herself was one of my favorite parts of the story. I also loved that Regan took time for herself along the way, to think, reflect, and not lose herself in the relationship.
Rook’s protectiveness is clear from the start, but it never feels overbearing, it shows up in quiet, meaningful ways that made him even more appealing. I really appreciated that their relationship wasn't just physical. The attraction between them is undeniable from the start, but sex isn’t the foundation. That made their relationship feel deeper and more satisfying as it developed.
Rook’s crew was another highlight. Their dynamic added depth and personality to the story, and I definitely want to know more about them. Overall, this was a swoony, fun read with heart, humor, and just the right amount of tension. I received this as an ARC from NetGalley and this reflects my honest opinion.
I'm a monster Reagan, but I can be your monster.
