Nina was an amazing MC. She’s the perfect example of hard work, resilience, and dedication while raising her daughter. She never gave up, even when life kept throwing her curveballs, and I admired her determination on every page.
Artyom’s affection for Nina is obvious from the very beginning. He never stopped loving her, even when distance and circumstance got in the way. Nina’s caution makes complete sense, and following their dynamic was incredibly entertaining. Watching Art silently lose his mind over not knowing who Ava’s father is, while refusing to actually ask, was hilarious.
So much happens in this book, and none of it disappoints. Everything Nina and Art face is exactly what shapes them into the couple they become. Their journey is a rollercoaster in the best way, just when things start to settle, another twist hits, and I was hooked the entire time.
The ending got me. I wasn’t expecting it, but at the same time, it somehow didn’t shock me. And Ava? Absolutely adorable. She goes through so much, yet she stays sweet and strong. When that shop owner yelled at her, I was ready to reach into the book and throw hands, she didn’t deserve that at all. She’s just a kid.
I loved Lily, Nikolai, and Viktor / Lisette. I'm still on the fence about Valentin. But every side character was distinct, and genuinely added to the story. I received this ARC, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I'm never going to get over this, having her exactly where I want her.
