This book had me from chapter two when he called her “my wife.” And honestly… it only got better from there. The way he said it, with that possessive, completely-gone-for-her energy, was everything. His quiet little actions showed how deeply he felt, and when he was terrified for her, his emotions were so overwhelming that I was hurting right along with him.

Luna doesn’t always recognize what he’s done for her at first, and I understood why. Her perspective is completely different, shaped by her past and her fears. The situations they face aren’t over-the-top drama, but moments that force them to rely on each other. When she finally sees past her assumptions, everything hits even harder.

The story itself was strong and the characters were wonderful. But the spice? Whew. Emotional, detailed, and perfectly matched to their connection. Listening to the audiobook added another layer of goosebumps. Corvin and Mollie’s duet narration was incredible. Their voices fit these characters so well I could have listened all day.

This story had devotion, protection, intensity, and a hero who never stopped showing she was his. Add in the overarching plot threads building around them, and it made the romance feel even richer. Exactly the kind of book I love getting lost in. I received this as an ALC an am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Fly away little bird. I crave the hunt.
