Some books slowly pull you into the story. This one grabbed me from the first chapter and refused to let go. Since we were introduced to Galina and Lochlan in the first book, Jagger doesn't waste time setting the stage. The story takes off immediately and never slows down. I kept telling myself I'd read one more chapter, and before I knew it, I'd spent the entire day with this book.

Lochlan wasn't what I expected when we first met him. He comes across as hard, controlling, and completely unapologetic, but the deeper you get into his story, the more you realize every decision he makes is driven by one thing: Galina. The depth of his devotion was honestly incredible. Yes, he watches over her a little too closely at times, and yes, there were moments where I desperately wanted him to listen to her instead of assuming he knew best. But watching Galina go from someone barely on his radar to becoming his entire world was everything I wanted from his story.

Galina was the perfect match for him. She challenged him, stood her ground, and never let him steamroll over her. Their push and pull made every interaction entertaining because neither one was willing to give an inch without a fight.

By the time I reached the last page, I honestly didn't want it to end. It delivered the obsession, the chemistry, the action, and the emotional payoff I was hoping for, and then some. I received this book as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

"The only thing you've ever ruined is me."
